How to be an Assembly coordinator?

Being a School Council assembly coordinator at first looks like a difficult thing to manage. Here’s how to make your duties much easier:

The first thing you should do is find out who in your school decides which assemblies happen when.

Set up a meeting with them to work out how often you can run assemblies. Bear in mind it shouldn’t be just you actually doing all the assemblies, the more people you can involve in standing at the front the better. Your job is to organise the people to do it, not to do them all yourself.

You can use these ideas to help people plan what they want to do: http://www.smartschoolcouncils.org.uk/resources/school-council-assemblies/

Make sure they don’t copy the format of assemblies that everyone in school finds boring! Copy the format of ones that make people sit up and listen, or event your own format.

We hope this helps!!
