My Journey As a Young Leader

Here’s Gabbi’s last blog as one of our Young Leaders. Bye Gabbi!

I am feeling sad as it is my last day as a young trainee with SSCC!!.. You can’t get rid of me so easily though, I am still going to be around working with SSCC, so you’ll hear from me very soon!

The journey started with wonderful training then led from school to school throughout North London. I have really enjoyed meeting so many inspirational and passionate young people with so many ideas that they will change in to projects to change their school and community.

Being a team with Emma and Marj has been beneficial as we always support and back each other whilst leading our sessions. We really started to learn from each other and give each other constructive criticism…. Except for when it came to deciding who is leading first thing on a Friday morning or lastly on a Friday afternoon!!…. Imagine the amount of energy bouncing around in one room!!

Here are a few of the highlights from my time with SSCC (More to Come! šŸ˜€ )

I cannot thank Asher and Greg enough for allowing me this amazing opportunity and to be part of such an amazing team with Emma & Marj for SSCC. I have enjoyed it so much. I have learnt a lot about democracy, the importance of having a voice, making change and to be open minded. I have also been to places I never would have gone without these guys, such as Tottenham Hotspur, Big Ben, Portcullis house, Cabinet Office, Platform & Lift.
